Sami Järvinen

Sami Järvinen is a Senior Software Engineer at Tosibox since 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior DevOps & Build Engineer at Varjo from June 2022 to March 2023, where they focused on build infrastructure for C++ projects using various tools such as Jenkins, CMake, Conan, Docker, and Ansible. Sami also implemented shared compiler caching and developed new build scripts using PowerShell. Before Varjo, Sami was a Staff Software Engineer at Xiaomi Technology from February 2022 to June 2022, where they focused on CI infrastructure based on GitLab and used PowerShell for scripting. From 2019 to 2022, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Scandit, developing Scandit's DataCapture SDK using C++ on Android, iOS, and Windows platforms. Sami also used Python for internal development tools and infrastructure. Prior to that, Sami was an Imaging Systems Engineer at Intel Corporation from April 2012 to June 2019, where they led software design and implementation, developed continuous integration processes, and acted as Scrum Master. Sami gained experience as a Senior Software Engineer at Tieto from 2007 to 2012, working on customer projects with C++ and C# and developing build automation and continuous integration processes. Before Tieto, they worked as a System Engineer at Patria Aviation Oy from September 2005 to October 2007 and as a Research Scientist at the Finnish Defence Forces Technical Research Centre (PVTT) from January 2002 to August 2005.

Sami Järvinen completed their education from 1996 to 2001 at the University of Oulu, where they obtained an M.Sc. degree. Their field of study included Physics, Signal Processing, Computer Science, and Mathematics. In addition to their formal education, Sami has also obtained certifications, including "Elements of AI" from the University of Helsinki and Reaktor in January 2019, and "Certified Scrum Master" from agile42 Finland in April 2015.
