Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the head of accounting for the toters fresh dark store business will be responsible for overseeing in Lebanon, Iraq and Kurdistan the toters fresh accounting department's daily operations, managing a team of accounting professionals, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.
Responsibilities:
Manage and supervise the daily operations of the accounting department in 3 markets
Coordinate and oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements are accurate
Supervise and control supporting documents for appropriate documentation and approval cycle before posting
Prepare and present financial statements and management reports, providing analysis and insights into financial performance, with recommendations to improving efficiencies and reducing costs across the business
Ensure finance ledgers are maintained on a timely basis, are accurate and complete, and structured for the dual purpose of providing relevant information to internal users and meeting statutory obligations
Supervise the reconciliation of accounts and resolve all issues and discrepancies
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements. Coordinate audits and provide auditors with necessary documents and explanations. Manage the company’s statutory taxation obligations (including Income Tax, VAT, NSSF...) and handle fiscal declaration
Oversee finance systems managing transaction flows from source through interfaces to general ledger. Lead on ERP integration for the business
Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring variances and analyzing trends
Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure high performance and career development
Continuously review and improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls
Build productive working relationships with stakeholders in order to understand their business operations and the financial information needs of end users. Manage relationships with others across the company to achieve alignment in key business strategies and decisions
