Melanie Rizzo Smith has a diverse range of work experience in various industries. Melanie started their career as an Adjunct Professor of Anthropology at Brookdale Community College from 2015 to 2019. In 2017, they co-founded and served as the Head of Marketing for Asbury Park Rosé Fest and Haute Feast, where they focused on curated private events and marketing campaigns.

Moving into the restaurant industry, Melanie worked as an Events Sales Manager at Cookman Restaurant Group from 2017 to 2020. During their tenure, they implemented revenue strategies, improved marketing goals, and increased event sales by 425%.

Transitioning to the cannabis industry, Melanie became a Content Coordinator at Civilized Worldwide Inc. in 2021. Melanie played a crucial role in establishing brand architecture, style guides, and tone for the brand's re-launch.

Melanie continued to work in the cannabis field, serving as a Cannabis & Hemp Content Writer at CannaSiteCo. from 2021 to 2022 and as a Content Manager at Deeproots Partners from 2022 to 2022. Melanie then took on the role of Editor in Chief at Fat Nugs Magazine in December 2022, where they currently work.

Melanie also founded their own freelance writing business, Melanie Rizzo, providing content marketing and writing services to clients in the cannabis and plant medicine space. Additionally, they worked as a Content Marketing Consultant at Good People from 2021 to 2022.
