Xavier Moonan

Xavier Moonan is a seasoned geoscientist with extensive experience in the petroleum industry and academia. Currently serving as Section Officer and Programme Chair at the Society of Petroleum Engineers - Trinidad & Tobago Section and as Director of Technology Transfer, Moonan also holds the position of President at AAPG Latin America & the Caribbean, advocating for the advancement of Petroleum Geosciences through various regional initiatives. With a background that includes roles such as Exploration Manager and Senior Geoscientist at Touchstone Exploration Inc., Moonan has also lectured in Petroleum Geoscience at The University of Trinidad and Tobago and the University of the West Indies. Previous positions at organizations like Centrica and Petrotrin, along with leadership roles in various geological societies, demonstrate Moonan's commitment to education, technological transfer, and the development of the geoscience field. Moonan holds a BSc in Geology from The University of the West Indies, as well as two Master's degrees in Structural Geology with Geophysics from the University of Leeds.
