David Barrent

David Barrent is the Sr. Director, Operations Strategy & Engineering at Tovala. Prior to their current role, David served as Senior Consultant at Gibson Consulting, where they were responsible for global product development and refrigeration. In this role, David introduced an industry-leading water dispensing system into production in June 2016, and led a change management effort for production transition influencing Mfg, Eng, & Procurement. Additionally, David conducted a workshop between Design and Adv. Eng. to develop an ice-making roadmap, and developed experiments and Matlab script for ice-making rate performance; assessed cycle-to-cycle variation and interactions with compartment cycling to propose and implement solutions.

In October 2017, David became the Vice President of Engineering and Operations at Howe Corporation. In this role, David was responsible for leading the engineering and operations teams to support the company’s growth objectives. Additionally, David oversaw all product development activities, as well as manufacturing and supply chain operations.

David has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University.
