Angus Shelton

Angus Shelton has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Angus began their career at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Senior Associate, where they worked from 1997 to 2002. Angus then joined Barclays Capital as an Associate Director from 2002 to 2009. Following this, they worked at ANZ in various roles, including Senior Finance Manager - External Reporting from 2009 to 2011, and Senior Finance Manager - Wealth and Insurance from 2012 to 2015.

In 2015, Angus joined Sovereign as the Head of Financial Reporting, where they led the Financial Reporting, Finance Risks & Controls, and Finance Operations teams. During their time at Sovereign, they implemented improvements to financial reporting, enhanced financial controls, and led a team to enhance performance and engagement.

From 2017 to 2021, Angus worked at Tower Insurance, initially as the Head of Financial Reporting & Analysis, where they overhauled performance reporting, simplified financial planning, and implemented PowerBI. Angus then served as the Deputy CFO, leading core finance functions for the company. In this role, they led key finance-related projects, improved financial controls and risk management processes, and was involved in major transactions such as a capital raise and acquisition/integration of Youi NZ.

Angus Shelton attended Auckland Grammar School from 1989 to 1992. Angus then pursued higher education at The University of Auckland from 1993 to 1997, earning a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws degree. During their time at university, they focused on studying Accounting, Finance, and Law.
