Peter Matchak

Peter Matchak, AICP, has extensive experience in urban and regional planning, currently serving as the Director of Planning for the Town of Ashland, MA since May 2019. Prior to this role, Peter held the position of Director of Planning in the Town of Cohasset from January 2018 to May 2019 and served as Town Planner for the Town of Hanover from August 2014 to January 2018. Earlier in their career, Peter was an Associate Planner in Hanover, an intern focused on data management in Lowell, and contributed as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and the Town of Ipswich, respectively. Peter holds a Master’s of Regional Planning from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, a Graduate Certificate in Geographical Information Systems from Salem State University, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Regional Planning from Westfield State University.
