Sonya Long

Sonya Long is a seasoned accounting professional with extensive experience in both governmental and financial sectors. Currently holding the position of Senior Accountant at the Town of Cary since August 2021, Sonya previously served as an Executive Accountant for Durham County Government from August 2017 to August 2021. Prior to that, employment included a role as a Financial Auditor at the NC Office of the State Auditor from January 2014 to August 2017, and as a Senior Credit Support Analyst at First Citizens Bank from June 2010 to January 2013. Sonya began their career as a Benefit Calculations Analyst at BB&T from August 2005 to July 2007. Academic achievements include a Master of Science in Accounting from East Carolina University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
