Michael Lyons has a diverse background in education and community service, currently serving as a Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) for the Town of Secaucus since December 2016. Lyons has extensive experience in teaching, having held positions as a Science Department Chair at Marion P. Thomas Charter School and as a Biology Teacher at Whippany Park High School, where responsibilities included teaching college prep and honors biology, AP Environmental Science, and coaching junior varsity baseball. Prior teaching roles include positions at Hoboken High School, where Lyons taught a variety of science subjects and coached multiple sports, and at Saint Peter's Preparatory School, where biology, chemistry, and physics were taught along with the development of an environmental science elective. Education includes a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Administration from Saint Peter's University and a Bachelor of Science in Biological and Physical Sciences from Rowan University. Additionally, Lyons volunteers as a Scoreboard Operator for the Dan Finn Classic since January 2008.
