Cpwp-M Thomas Lapere

Thomas LaPere, CPWP-M, currently serves as the Assistant Construction and Utilities Manager for the Town of Westerly, Rhode Island, since September 2022, following a long tenure as Crew Lead from December 2005 to September 2022. In this role, Thomas oversees daily operations at a municipal transfer station and recycling facility, ensuring the safe operation of heavy equipment and the efficient transportation of materials. Thomas also manages a crew, maintains vendor relationships, and handles customer interactions. Previously, Thomas worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Town of Westerly DPW and served as a Charter Pilot at Freedom Jets Aviation Inc., where responsibilities included preflight planning and communication with air traffic control. Thomas possesses educational credentials from Dowling College and the New England Institute of Technology, along with a high school diploma from Eagle Hill School.
