Candice Savin

Selectwoman at Town of Westport

Selectwoman Candice Savin, a Connecticut native and 20-year resident of Westport, is well-known in town as a long-time public servant, parent, community leader, and successful attorney.

Candice stepped up to lead the Board of Education in November of 2019 at a time when the Board faced several daunting challenges. Under her leadership, the Board gained the trust of the parent community, installed effective professional leadership for the schools, and worked collaboratively with town leaders to return the students to Coleytown Middle School. And when Covid-19 hit Westport, Candice’s steady and determined leadership successfully guided the school community through the unprecedented challenges of pandemic education.

A graduate of Johns Hopkins University and Duke University School of Law, Candice began her career as a New York City prosecutor. After moving to Westport in 2002 with Daniel Gross and two small children, she built a thriving real estate law practice. Candice contributes to the community in many ways, including as the co-chair of Booked for the Evening, the Westport Library’s main fundraising event, and as a past Board member of both the Conservative Synagogue and the Westport chapter of Hadassah.
