Ching-Hsin (Zach) Fang is a highly experienced robotics engineer currently serving as a Senior Research Engineer at Toyota Research Institute since January 2019, focusing on robot perception, rendering, and machine learning, while actively contributing to the open-source software project, Drake. Prior to this role, Fang held positions as a Research Engineer and Robotics Software Engineer at Toyota, developing advanced perception systems and creating the T-TR1 telepresence robot for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Previous experience includes serving as a Senior Software Engineer and a Member of the Technical Staff at 6 River Systems, optimizing robot perception algorithms and supporting robot deployment, as well as internships at Near Earth Autonomy, Autonomous Solutions, Inc., and Hiwin Corporation, where Fang specialized in multi-sensor systems, 3D segmentation algorithms, and medical robotics. Ching-Hsin Fang holds a Master's degree in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University.
