Jiading Fang

Jiading Fang is a PhD student at the Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago (TTIC) since October 2018, with extensive experience in artificial intelligence and robotics. In 2024, Jiading served as an AI Resident at 1X, focusing on team robot foundation models. Previous internships include a research internship at Bosch USA, where Jiading developed quantitative evaluations for LLM’s navigation abilities, and a research internship at the Toyota Research Institute, contributing to fast text-to-NeRF rendering. Jiading also received an outstanding internship award while interning at Mech-Mind Robotics, where development of a results analyzer for deep learning tasks was achieved. Early research experience includes generating images and 3D data from video game simulations while at Horizon Robotics. Jiading holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Zhejiang University.
