Machel McCatty

Machel McCatty has worked in a variety of roles in the data and analytics field since 2002. In 2002, Machel worked as an Auditor at Rotel Inc. where they were responsible for auditing the daily balances. In 2003, Machel worked as a Research Assistant at Carleton University, researching values that drive career transitions among employees in various organizations. In 2004, Machel was a Summer Intern at Bank of Jamaica, assisting the financial stability department in building and strengthening the Central Bank's economic knowledge database. From 2006 to 2009, Machel worked at Bank of Jamaica as an Economist, analyzing trends and directions in the Real Sector economy and assisting in forecasting GDP growth. From 2006 to 2019, Machel was the Managing Director of Calyx Consulting Co. Ltd., managing the day to day operations of the independent consulting company and leading the company's activities in the development of data management solutions. From 2015 to 2019, Machel was the Database Manager at ACDI/VOCA. In 2021, Machel became the Data & Analytics Manager at TradeCafe. Additionally, Machel is the Founder & Principal Consultant at Agile Data Labs, a Microsoft partner offering data analytics and training solutions.

Machel McCatty began their educational journey at Belair High School. Machel then went on to Carleton University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics in 2004 and a Master of Arts (MA) in Economics in 2005. In 2018, they obtained several Microsoft certifications, including MCP 70-778: Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Power BI, MCSA: BI Reporting - Certified 2019, and Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate. In 2020, they obtained a Microsoft Certified Trainer 2020-2021 certification. In 2021, they obtained a Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals certification. In 2022, they are expected to obtain a Data Strategy certification from LinkedIn and Business Analytics for Decision Making and Predictive Modeling and Analytics certifications from the University of Colorado Boulder. In 2020, they also completed a Certificate in Executive Data Science from The Johns Hopkins University.
