Mary Anne Poutous has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of mental health and community education. Mary Anne started their career as a Child and Family Therapist at Western Psychiatric Clinic in 1978 and then worked as a Clinical Social Worker at Allegheny General Hospital from 1988 to 1991. Mary Anne further pursued their career as a Clinical Social Worker at UPMC from 1992 to 1995. Mary Anne then transitioned to St. Clair Hospital in 1995, where they served as an Educator, focusing on staff and physician education in areas such as customer service, safety, ethics, staff development, and health and wellness. In 2004, they joined Adagio Health as the Director of the Community Education Department, responsible for providing health and wellness prevention education to individuals, particularly under-served communities and populations in western Pennsylvania. During their tenure, Mary Anne successfully secured $10 million in grant funding over a 6-year period and managed multiple funding streams. Lastly, Mary Anne has been the Chief Executive Officer of Transitional Services, Inc. since 2017, where they lead the provision of community residential and rehabilitative services and supports for individuals with mental disabilities, with a mission to help them achieve quality lives.
Mary Anne Poutous obtained a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and Teaching from the University of Pittsburgh in 1976. Mary Anne then pursued a Master's degree in Clinical/Medical Social Work from the same university, completing it in 1978. In 2000, they attended Penn State University for a Human Resource Development Certificate Training and Development program, which they completed in 2002. Furthermore, Mary Anne Poutous holds a certification as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), but the institution and date of obtaining the certification are unknown.
