Terence Chu has a diverse work experience in communications and public affairs. Terence started their career in 2013 as a Marketing and Communications Assistant at go2HR, where they supported the health and safety portfolio. In 2014, they worked as a Technical Writer at Ericsson, creating user-friendly content for instruction manuals. After that, they joined FleishmanHillard HighRoad as an Associate Consultant, working with clients in various sectors. In 2016, they briefly worked as a Communications Assistant at FleishmanHillard HighRoad before joining TransLink. At TransLink, Terence has held multiple roles, including Corporate and Employee Communications Advisor and Communications and Public Affairs Lead for Bus Rapid Transit, focusing on transportation planning and policy. Throughout their career, Terence has developed expertise in corporate communications strategy, copywriting, crisis management, and digital marketing.
Terence Chu completed a Bachelor's Degree in Communication and Political Science at Simon Fraser University from 2011 to 2018. In 2014, they also participated in the Global Exchange Programme at the University of Amsterdam, focusing on International and Political Communication. Additionally, from 2014 to 2018, they obtained an Associate Certificate in Applied Web Development from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Currently, they are pursuing a Certificate in User Experience Design at BrainStation, which they will complete in 2023.
