Svitozar Omelko has had a diverse range of experiences in their work history. Svitozar began their career as a Procurement Officer at Public Works and Government Services Canada. From there, they moved on to work for the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Development as a Foreign Service Officer. In this role, they led negotiations for the Canada Russia Space Cooperation Treaty and organized the Canadian Prime Minister's participation in international summits.
Svitozar then transitioned to the private sector, founding Squeakly Inc / Kanaree, where they designed and deployed a new service offering for the real estate market. Afterward, they joined Amazon, where they held various positions including Global Expansions Manager for Amazon Logistics and Head of International Expansions for Amazon Flex. In these roles, they led the launch and expansion of Amazon Logistics operations in several countries and coordinated cross-functional teams to ensure successful operation post-launch.
Currently, Omelko is working at TransMedics, Inc. as the Senior Director of Logistics Product and Programs. Here, they are responsible for building a transplant logistics network and leveraging the TransMedics Organ Care System (OCS) to improve transplant success rates and geographic availability. The OCS is a revolutionary technology that allows for the preservation and assessment of organs for extended periods of time.
Svitozar Omelko earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs and Economics from the University of Toronto from 2000 to 2004. Svitozar then pursued a Master of Arts degree in European and Russian Studies at Carleton University, which they completed from 2005 to 2007. Later, from 2015 to 2017, Svitozar attended the Yale School of Management, earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus in Business Administration and Management, General.
