Oliver Gearing

Oliver Gearing has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Oliver began their career as a Researcher at The Wellcome Trust High Field MRI Laboratory, where they conducted complex mathematical and scientific analyses. Following that, they established a successful business as a Musician, teaching students and performing publicly.

In 2008, Oliver transitioned into the finance field, starting as a Reporting Analyst at Bay Restaurant Group, followed by a role as a Financial Analyst at Town and City Pub Company. Oliver gained expertise in operational and managerial support, reporting, budgeting, and variance analyses.

Oliver then moved on to Mitre Sports International and served as a Management Accountant and later as a Finance Manager. At TUI, they held various roles, including Overseas Business Partner, Head of Finance, Transformation and Central Functions, and Head of Reporting.

Oliver's most recent work experience is with Transport for London, where they began as a Senior Divisional Financial Controller before becoming the Head of Finance. Currently, they hold the position of Finance Director, Operations, overseeing a £6 billion+ operating expenditure cost base and leading the transformation program.

Overall, Oliver Gearing has a solid background in finance, with expertise in financial management, leadership, and strategic planning.

Oliver Gearing completed their A Levels in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry at The Knights Templar School from 1992 to 1999. Oliver then pursued a degree in Medical Physics and Bioengineering at UCL from 1999 to 2003, graduating with a First. Later on, from 2009 to 2011, they studied at CIMA and obtained their ACMA degree in CIMA.
