Michael Cavanaugh has a diverse work experience in the construction and engineering industry. Michael began their career as an Associate at Lichtenfels Pansing Miller PC, where they specialized in commercial construction law. Michael later became an Associate Partner, overseeing case files and engagements, and supervising associates and other resources.
In 2001, Michael joined MWH Global, an employee-owned engineering firm focused on water infrastructure projects. Michael served as the VP and Associate General Counsel, providing legal support for various corporate functions and operations. Additionally, they acted as lead counsel for MWH Constructors, Inc., a construction subsidiary of MWH Global.
After MWH Global was acquired by Stantec in 2016, Michael continued their role as the VP and Associate General Counsel. Michael played a significant role in the integration of the two companies, working with a team of 22,000 employees worldwide.
Most recently, Michael joined TranSystems in 2019 as the Senior Vice President and General Counsel. In this position, they oversee legal matters and provides strategic guidance to the company.
Throughout their career, Michael has demonstrated expertise in construction law, litigation, arbitration, mediation, and contract review. Michael has played a key role in the growth and success of various organizations in the construction and engineering industry.
Michael Cavanaugh's education history begins in 1983 when they enrolled at Regis University. Michael pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Philosophy, which they completed in 1987. Following their undergraduate studies, Michael attended Santa Clara University School of Law from 1989 to 1991, where they earned their Juris Doctor degree.
In April 1992, Michael obtained a Colorado bar license from the Colorado State Supreme Court.
