Thomas Nickels

Thomas Nickels has over two decades of work experience in the engineering and technology sectors. Thomas started their career in 1998 as a Projektmanager Truck Racing at MAN Truck & Bus AG. Thomas then held various roles within the company, such as Senior Engineer, Senior Manager, and Vice President in areas including suspension, steering, chassis, and complete vehicle engineering. In 2008, they joined NEOPLAN Bus GmbH as Vice President Engineering, focusing on powertrain integration and HVAC for buses. In 2009, they returned to MAN Truck & Bus AG and served as Senior Vice President Engineering for different divisions, including Rolling Chassis and New Light Range. In 2013, they further advanced their career and became Senior Vice President Engineering Powertrain at MAN Truck & Bus SE. Thomas held several other senior leadership roles in the Engineering department, including optimizing product costs, drivetrain, cabin & chassis, and operations & functional excellence. In 2023, Thomas Nickels joined TRATON GROUP as Senior Vice President Group R&D Cab & Chassis.

Thomas Nickels attended the Technical University of Munich where they obtained a degree in Maschinenbau, known as Diplom-Ingenieur.
