Brian Hanold has a strong background in engineering, particularly in the bicycle industry. Brian started their career at S&S Cycle, Inc. in 1999 as a Project Engineer and later became an OEM Project Engineer. In 2005, they joined Trek Bicycle as a Senior Design Engineer and worked their way up to becoming the Bontrager Engineering Manager. Brian then took on the role of Project Manager before becoming the Director of Aftermarket Engineering. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Product Development and Sustainability Engineering at Trek Bicycle Corporation.
Brian Hanold completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville from 1995 to 1998. Prior to that, from 1994 to 1995, they studied Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Richland. In 1993 to 1994, Brian attended Marquette University, focusing on Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications throughout the years, including CIRCO Design Workshop from CIRCO | Creating Business through Circular Design in February 2020, Innovation Engineering Black Belt from the Innovation Engineering Institute in August 2019, a Masters Certificate in Project Management from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in December 2011, and Six Sigma Greenbelt Training from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in August 2005.
