Lae Kettavong

Lae Kettavong is a software engineer with extensive experience in various industries and technologies. They started their career as a Software Engineer Co-op at Windstream, where they developed and maintained JavaScript and PL/SQL frameworks for an Oracle backend SaaS telecommunication management suite. They then worked as a Software Engineer / Systems Administrator at Elo TouchSystems, where they developed proprietary Microsoft Access software solutions to optimize engineering and manufacturing processes.

In 2008, Lae joined SkillSoft as a Senior Software Engineer and played a crucial role in developing and maintaining an enterprise cloud-based learning management system. They were responsible for creating new RESTful APIs for user/content management and curation, which generated additional revenue for the platform.

Later on, Lae worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Coolfront Technologies, where they worked independently as a contract engineer to develop an enterprise cloud-based invoice and maintenance management platform for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical industries. They successfully improved platform signup rates and user experience through the implementation of effective workflows.

In 2013, Lae took a personal sabbatical to pursue continuing education and volunteer work. During this time, they received training in various frontend and backend technologies, including Node.js, React, GraphQL, AWS, Docker, CI/CD, and Kubernetes.

After their sabbatical, Lae joined Sharp Notions, LLC as a Senior Software Engineer. In this role, they were part of a FinTech full-stack software engineering team, leading backend heavy RESTful API and data store development in a cloud infrastructure. They primarily worked on the development and maintenance of a cloud-based student loan lending platform.

Most recently, Lae joined Trellis as a Senior Software Engineer, applying their expertise in software development to contribute to the company's projects.

Throughout their career, Lae has gained proficiency in a wide range of technologies, including Java, JavaScript, Oracle, MSSQL Server, Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, AWS, and Docker, among others. They have a strong background in full-stack software engineering, team leadership, and cloud-based application development.

Lae Kettavong obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology, from 2002 to 2007. Prior to this, Lae also pursued a BS degree in Criminal Justice from the same institution, from 1993 to 1999.
