José David Álvarez Cortesía has a diverse work experience in product management and IT support roles. José David currently works at Tribal as a Product Manager II, starting in December 2022. José David Álvarez Cortesía has a strong educational background in engineering and computer software engineering. José David obtained an Engineer's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Universidad Simón Bolívar, where they studied from 2009 to 2028. In addition to their university education, José also pursued further certifications and obtained a Full Stack Web Development Certification from freeCodeCamp in 2018.

Before their university studies, José attended Colegio Santo Ángel de la Guarda from 2006 to 2008, where they completed their high school education.

In 2017, they obtained various certifications from Lynda.com, including "Becoming a Web Developer: Full Stack vs Front End," "Foundations of Programming: Fundamentals," "Foundations of UX: Accessibility," "Responsive Design Fundamentals," and "Up and Running with Git and GitHub." In 2020, they earned the Scrum Master Certified (SMC) certification from Scrum Alliance.
