David Smith's work experience begins in 1983 as an Assistant Departmental Manager at Hillards Supermarkets. David then worked as RAF Police in the Royal Air Force from 1986 to 1995. Following that, they worked as an Investigator at Ellis Swain PI Ltd from 1995 to 1996. From 1996 to 1999, they served as an Aviation Security Team Leader at East Midlands Airport. David then became a Team Manager in Call Centre Operations, Sales, Service, and Helpdesk at bmi (formerly British Midland Airways) from 1999 to 2004.
