Suzanne Douglas has over 30 years of experience in human resources and leadership roles. Suzanne'smost recent position was as the Global Human Resources Director at TricorBraun, where they managed HR activities and supported business growth through the development and implementation of HR programs. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Human Resources at University Health Network, overseeing HR services for the Surgical Portfolio. Earlier in their career, Suzanne held the position of Director of Human Resources at the Law Society of Ontario, where they provided leadership and aligning HR services with the organization's values and goals. Suzanne also worked as a Manager of Human Resources at O&Y Enterprise and Hutchinson Communications, and as an HR Service Centre Manager at Abbey National. Suzanne started their career as a Secondary School Teacher at the London Borough of Enfield. Throughout their various roles, they have demonstrated achievements in areas such as talent development, performance management, collective bargaining, and HR project management.
Suzanne Douglas has a diverse education history. Suzanne obtained a Certificate in Intercultural/Multicultural and Diversity Studies from The University of British Columbia, with a completion date in 2023. Prior to that, they earned an Executive MBA from the University of Fredericton, completing the degree between 2017 and 2019. Suzanne also holds various certificates from York University - Osgoode Hall Law School, including an Osgoode Certificate in Advanced Human Resources Law earned in 2017, a Certificate in Workplace Mental Health Law earned in 2016, and a Certificate in Workplace Investigations from Bernardi Human Resource Law (HRPA accredited) in the same year.
Additionally, Suzanne holds a Certificate of Achievement in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) from the University of Windsor (Faculty of Law) & Stitt Feld Handy Group, obtained in 2010. Suzanne completed an Advanced Program in Human Resources Management from the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management in 2008. Earlier, Suzanne earned a Diploma in Management from The Open University between 1994 and 1996.
Suzanne's educational background also includes formal training in teaching. Suzanne received a Post Graduate Certificate in Education with a focus on Secondary Education and Teaching from Brunel University in 1989. Prior to that, they earned a BA Honours Degree from Brunel University between 1985 and 1988.
In addition to their formal education, Suzanne has obtained several certifications. Suzanne is a DISC - PPA Analyst and a GIA Analyst certified by Thomas International in February 2013. Furthermore, they hold Joint Health & Safety Committee Part 1 and Part 2 certifications from Dwight Barratt Consulting, which meet the requirements set by the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development (Ontario). Suzanne obtained these certifications in February 2020.
