Jim Coyne has a diverse range of work experience in various engineering roles. Jim is currently working as a Lead Mechanical Engineer at TRL11. Prior to that, they were an Investor/Advisor at Mode and a Senior Mechanical & Automation Engineer at Kernel. Before that, they worked as an NDE and Automation Engineer at Space Exploration Technologies and as a Mechanical Design Engineer at RedZone Robotics. Jim also has experience as a Research Assistant at California Polytechnic State University, where they worked for a brief period. Jim also worked as a Research Associate at NASA Kennedy Space Center, where they coordinated with multiple companies to integrate experimental technology onto planned space probe missions. Earlier in their career, Jim gained experience as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at the Naval Research Laboratory and as a Software Test Engineer at Modevity LLC.
Jim Coyne obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering and Entrepreneurship from Penn State University between 2007 and 2011. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Robotic Systems Development at Carnegie Mellon University from 2011 to 2012.
