Matt Clifford is a highly experienced legal professional with a focus on conservation and environmental issues. Currently serving as Staff Attorney at Trout Unlimited since August 2013, Matt has provided legal and consulting services to non-profit conservation organizations through private practice since February 2012. Previous roles include Policy Director at Carpe Diem West, where Matt addressed climate change impacts on water in the western United States, and Conservation Director/Staff Attorney at the Clark Fork Coalition, where conservation programs were developed and implemented. Matt's legal background also includes significant experience in civil litigation at Beers Law Offices and as an Associate Attorney in private practice, with notable cases involving environmental regulations and challenges. Matt began a legal career by clerking for US District Court Judge Donald W. Molloy after earning a JD from the University of Montana School of Law and a Bachelor’s degree from Northern Arizona University.
