Seth Degroot

Seth DeGroot has an extensive work experience in various industries. Seth is currently serving as the Managing Partner at Gravity Fund since April 2021. Prior to this, Seth was a Board Member at VRChat Inc, where they contributed to the development of social VR experiences since February 2016. Seth also held the position of Director at truBrain, a next-generation food and beverage company focusing on cognitive optimization, from July 2015 onwards. Seth's experience also includes being a Director at Horizon Oilfield Services, where they provided comprehensive oilfield waste disposal services starting from January 2014.

Before that, Seth was the Director at House of Talents, an organization empowering talented artisans in Ghana, West Africa, starting from March 2011. Seth also served as the Managing Partner at Brightstone Venture Capital, a venture fund focused on early-growth stage investments in the Technology and Biotechnology sectors, from December 2012 until September 2021.

In addition, Seth held the role of Board Observer at StemoniX, a company revolutionizing stem cell-based research and drug screening, from February 2017 to April 2021. Seth also served as a Strategic Advisor at Realvision Inc., an immersive media technology company for the real estate industry, from August 2016 to April 2021. Additionally, Seth worked as a Strategic Advisor at Bite Squad, an on-demand delivery platform, from August 2015 to April 2021.

Before their roles in the technology and venture capital sectors, Seth co-founded Simple Science, a company that introduced Hypochlorous products for home use, from March 2012 to December 2013.

Seth DeGroot obtained their Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and Marketing from Augustana University (SD) between the years 2003 and 2007. Seth furthered their education by pursuing an MBA degree with a focus on Finance and Entrepreneurship at the University of St. Thomas - Opus College of Business from 2007 to 2009.
