Steve W. Balch Jr.

Steve W. Balch Jr. is an experienced cybersecurity professional currently serving as SVP and Cybersecurity Principal Engineer at Truist since April 2016. In this role, Steve leads the development and integration of technologies for Corporate Cyber Security and acts as an Agile Product Owner for various security control platforms. Previously, Steve was the IT Enterprise Information Security Lead Architect at Truist, where responsibilities included defining information security architecture and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure reliable cybersecurity infrastructure. Prior to joining Truist, Steve worked as a Security Engineer at Check Point Software Technologies and held various roles at Duke Energy Corporation, MCI, and the United States Air Force, where foundational network security and engineering skills were developed. Steve holds an Associate's Degree in Business Administration from American InterContinental University and has additional education from the Community College of the Air Force.
