Derek Tyson

Derek Tyson currently serves as the Director of Sales for the Southeast and Director of Business Development for Eastern Canada at Trupanion since August 2023. Prior to this, Derek held several leadership roles at Blue Heron Consulting from February 2020 to August 2023, including Director of Industry Consultants, Field Consultant Trainer, and Field Consultant, where the focus was on coaching veterinary professionals to enhance client experience and practice profitability. Derek also served as the Regional Director for the Eastern Market at Trupanion from November 2017 to March 2022, after which the Regional Director Program transitioned to Blue Heron Consulting. Derek’s early career included positions as an ESPN SEC college football recruiting reporter and analyst, Football and Recruiting Analyst at GatorCountry.com, Sales Account Manager at Sneakers Software, Inc., and Practice Manager at Pet Doctors of America. Derek earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Northwood University.
