Spencer's earliest work experience was as an Assistant Tennis Counselor at Baltimore Fitness and Tennis in June 2006, where they assisted the head instructor with setting up equipment and planning activities for a camp with 125 children. Spencer also instructed children in tennis lessons and supervised other camp activities.

Spencer Riehl completed their high school education from St. Paul's School from 2005 to 2009. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Economics with Minors in History and Spanish from Denison University, where they studied from 2009 to 2013.
