Omar Meriwani

Omar Meriwani has a diverse range of work experience. Omar is currently serving as a Lead Data Engineer at TSB Bank since August 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Strategic Insights Data Analyst at TSB Bank from March 2020 to August 2021, where they engaged in data analysis tasks such as customer segmentation, developed procedures for moving and distributing data automatically, and created PDF parsers to read, index, and organize documents.

Omar also worked as a Postgraduate Student at the University of Essex from October 2018 to October 2019, where they studied machine learning, natural language processing, text analytics, information retrieval, and data science. Their dissertation focused on developing five methods for detecting fake news using deep learning and received a distinction with a final average of 76.

Earlier in their career, Omar held the position of Senior Developer at Korek Telecom from November 2014 to October 2018. Before that, they were the CEO and Founder of Meriwani Software from January 2011 to October 2018.
