Richard Bourne

Richard Bourne has worked in the chemical and regulatory fields for over a decade. In 2020, they joined TSG Consulting as a Senior Chemistry & Residues Regulatory Specialist (Pesticides & Biocides). In this role, they provide technical input and advice in support of pesticide and biocide active substance and product applications. From 2014 to 2020, they worked as a Chemistry & Residues Regulatory Specialist at the Chemicals Regulation Division (Health and Safety Executive). In this role, they were responsible for the evaluation of chemistry, analytical method, metabolism and residue data for the authorisation of pesticide and biocide products. From 2008 to 2014, they worked at the University of Hull as a PhD Student and Laboratory Demonstrator. As a PhD Student, they conducted research on the synthesis and surface modification of nanorods for investigation into organic-inorganic hybrid materials. As a Laboratory Demonstrator, they were responsible for the supervision and safety of undergraduate students during practical laboratory sessions as well as instruction in experimental procedures and the use of analytical equipment.

Richard Bourne attended Hessle High School from 1997 to 2004, before graduating with a MChem in Chemistry from the University of Hull in 2008. Richard also holds a certification in Computer Science 101 from Coursera.
