Mya Bal is an accomplished leader and educator currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science with a Minor in Commerce at The University of British Columbia, expected to graduate in April 2024. Mya has served in various prominent roles within the UBC Microbiology and Immunology Students Association, including President, Vice President Internal Affairs, and Vice President Communications, where responsibilities included overseeing marketing directors and producing monthly newsletters for a large student body. As the Founder and President of the U & Me Mentorship Association, Mya developed a pairing process for more than 450 mentors and mentees and contributed to the creation of numerous student articles and newsletters. Mya has also worked as a Private Tutor for TUEX Education and as a Sales Enablement & Training Coordinator at STEMCELL Technologies. Previous involvement includes serving as Vice President of the Girls Can Talk Society, fostering community among young women across high schools in British Columbia, and tutoring at Lord Byng Secondary School, supporting students in math and special education.
