Stuart Cooper

Stuart Cooper has extensive experience in the energy industry, holding various senior roles in Strategy, Commercial, and Business Development. Stuart currently serves as the Director of Strategy, Commercial & Business Development at Tullow Oil. Prior to this, they were the Executive Vice President of Strategy, Commercial & Business Development at Harbour Energy. Stuart's previous positions include Managing Director at SCA Limited, Senior Director at Kirk Lovegrove & Company, Senior Vice President at DONG Energy, and Vice President at TAQA Group. Stuart also worked as the Head of Acquisitions & Divestments at CIBC World Markets and Director of Business Development at Suncor. Early in their career, Stuart worked as the International Commercial Manager at Burlington Resources and held various legal and negotiation roles at TOTAL.

Stuart Cooper completed a Certificate in Principles of Financial Regulation from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment in 2010-2011. In 2006, they attended the Ivey Business School at Western University for Q1 Leadership. Stuart pursued an MSc (Dipl.) in Oil and Gas Technology and Management from the University of Aberdeen between 1996 and 1997. Stuart also obtained a degree in Law from the College of Law, Chester in 1987-1988. Stuart graduated with a Law LLB (Hons) from The University of Manchester in 1983-1986. Additionally, Stuart participated in the Kairos Management Programme at INSEAD in 2015.
