Jussi Merikanto

Jussi Merikanto is a highly accomplished music professional with extensive experience in leadership and performance roles. As Chief Executive Officer of the Turku Music Festival since October 2024 and Artistic Director of the Joroinen Music Festival since June 2021, Jussi has demonstrated significant artistic vision and management capabilities. Additionally, Jussi has served as an opera singer with the Finnish National Opera and Ballet since August 2019 and has maintained a role at Meri-Canto Oy since February 2011. As Artistic Director of the Nurmes City of Christmas Carols and Producer for Tapiola Sinfonietta recently, Jussi continues to shape the cultural landscape. Jussi's academic background includes a Master's degree in Arts Management and a Master of Arts from Sibelius-Akatemia, completed between 2019 and 2022.
