Yana Mykhailenko

Yana Mykhailenko has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and responsibilities. Yana is currently the Director of Engineering at Turnitin, where they manage a diverse portfolio of nine products generating over $60 million in annual revenue. Their responsibilities include leading cross-functional teams, ensuring talent retention, effective hiring, and strong people management. Yana also oversees delivery processes, develops tech strategies and roadmaps, and manages the integration of acquired companies.

Before joining Turnitin, Yana was the Chief Executive Officer at LeaveTheMeeting, a meeting assistant platform that enhances productivity in meetings. Yana added structure, time limits, agenda, real-time feedback, and more to meetings, providing best-practices templates for productive meetings.

Yana has also held the position of CEO at Shop by VOICE, where they orchestrated business and product strategy, expanded the product into European markets, and cultivated relationships with venture capital firms and angel investors.

Yana was the Founding CTO at Firebird Summit, Inc., a conversational AI startup in e-commerce. Yana developed the product strategy, led the implementation of a distributed system architecture, and managed the research and development of technology.

Prior to that, Yana earned their Bachelor's degree in System Analysis from the National Technical University of Ukraine 'Kyiv Polytechnic Institute' from 2007 to 2011. In 2019, they attended the Kyiv School of Economics for Product Management studies and participated in the Startup school program at Y Combinator.
