Stephanie Hlywak is a Senior Vice President at Tusk Strategies where she helps tell stories that drive impact, change hearts and minds, and make bold social change. She is a collaborative and trusted partner skilled at building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders from media outlets and C-suite executives to high-profile influencers and community leaders.
Prior to Tusk, Stephanie led the Communications and Marketing Office of the American Library Association, where she promoted the value of libraries, advocated for the freedom to read, and managed major celebrations like National Library Week, among others. Prior to that, she has served in leadership roles in many non-profits, associations, and agencies. The throughline in her career has been to work on behalf of organizations and businesses that make the world a better place. She began her career in publishing and is a voracious reader and proud library card holder.
Stephanie earned an M.A. from the University of Chicago and a B.S. in journalism from Medill at Northwestern University. Her hobbies include swimming, hanging out with her family, and following the band Phish around the country. She lives in Chicago with one husband, two kids, two cats, and one dog.
