Business Development Manager at Tutatahi First Fibre

Daniel Rugaas has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Daniel currently works at Tuatahi First Fibre as a Business Development Manager, where they are responsible for establishing and strengthening relationships with key contacts in the Developer space. Daniel'srole involves working with property developers, surveyors, consultants, councils, and group housing companies to promote the availability of fiber connectivity.

Prior to their current position, Daniel worked at Corys Electrical as the National Business Development Manager - Data & Telecommunications. In this role, they managed the Telecommunications and Data portfolios for the company. Daniel also managed their largest Telco account, maintained relationships with key national contractors and suppliers, and provided staff training and technical support across multiple branches.

Before their time at Corys Electrical, Daniel worked at Pacific Datacom as a Customer Service Supervisor. Daniel supervised internal sales and warehouse teams, managed key accounts and sales activities, and controlled inventory for the branch.

Daniel also has experience as the Business Manager at Next Byte, where they were responsible for the day-to-day operations of the store. This included building and maintaining customer relationships, achieving sales targets, controlling costs, and ensuring a high level of customer service.

Additionally, Daniel worked at Left Brain Group (NZ) as a Buyer/Website Moderator, where they handled procurement and website management for "I Want That", an online store. Daniel'sresponsibilities included product ordering, content updating, brand promotion, and customer service.

Daniel began their career at Dick Smith Electronics NZ, where they held various roles including Store Manager. Daniel gained extensive knowledge of retail store processes and worked their way up from a salesperson to a manager during their six years with the company.

Daniel Rugaas has a diverse education history, starting with their enrollment at Tauranga Boys College from 1999 to 2002. Daniel then pursued a Certificate III in Telecommunications - ICT30213 from ASG Integracom in 2015. In 2003, they attended Bay of Plenty Polytechnic and completed a NZ Diploma in Business (NZDipBus) between 2003 and 2007. Furthermore, in 2008, they obtained a National Certificate in Retail Level 3 from the Retail Industry Training Organisation (RITO). Most recently, from 2020 to 2022, Daniel pursued a Bachelor of Business (BBus) with a focus on Management at the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand.
