Rick Thomson

Rick Thomson has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Rick is currently employed at Tuatahi First Fibre as a Financial Planning Modelling and Analysis Manager, a position they started in August 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an Accountant at the same company from March 2020 to August 2022.

Before joining Tuatahi First Fibre, Rick worked at PwC New Zealand, where they held various roles. Rick was a Senior Associate in the Financial Advisory Services department from July 2018 to February 2020. In this role, they specialized in the preparation of annual accounts, financial statements, and income tax returns, with a focus on IFRS RDR reporting. Rick also had a 5-month secondment where they administered salary and wage runs, performed month-end processing, and conducted monthly reporting to the parent entity.

Prior to their Senior Associate role, Rick was an Associate in both the Financial Advisory Services and Assurance departments at PwC. In the Financial Advisory Services role from October 2017 to June 2018, they prepared annual accounts, income tax returns, and resolutions and specialized in IFRS RDR reporting. In the Assurance role from February 2015 to October 2017, Rick analyzed clients' financial information for compliance with accounting standards, evaluated internal accounting processes, and focused on industries such as Manufacturing and Forestry.

Rick's earlier work experience includes a role as a Sponsorship Assistant at the Waikato Management Student School Association from June 2013 to June 2014. Rick was responsible for communicating with prospective and existing sponsors, as well as assisting the executive team.

Rick also had an internship at PwC New Zealand as an Intern in Assurance from November 2013 to February 2014. In this role, they examined accounting areas, conducted stock count procedures, and assisted with valuations for clients.

Additionally, Rick worked as a Junior Clerk at JacksonBlakeman Chartered Accountants from November 2012 to February 2013. Rick'sresponsibilities included establishing and updating interest and share registers and transitioning paper records to electronic copies.

Earlier in their career, Rick gained retail and customer service experience as a Checkouts Operator at PAK'nSAVE from November 2011 to February 2012 and from November 2010 to February 2011.

Rick also dedicated their time as a voluntary assistant at Sunshine Service from September 2009 to April 2010 and as a Retail Assistant at Sunrise City Gifts from May 2006 to May 2009.

Rick Thomson attended Campion College from 2005 to 2010. However, no specific degree or field of study was mentioned during this time. From 2011 to 2015, Rick Thomson studied at The University of Waikato, where they obtained a Bachelor of Management Studies with a concentration in Accounting and Finance.
