Thora Markert

Thora Markert is an experienced professional in the field of artificial intelligence, currently serving as the Head of AI Research and Governance at TÜV Informationstechnik GmbH - TÜVIT (TÜV NORD GROUP) since July 2023, leading initiatives on trustworthy AI, AI audits, governance, safety, and security. Prior to this role, Thora worked as a Scientific Collaborator at IKIM - Institut für Künstliche Intelligenz in der Medizin from March to June 2023, and held positions as a Senior AI Expert and AI Expert at TÜVIT between October 2020 and February 2023. Thora's earlier experience includes a role as a Scientific Collaborator at Uniklinik RWTH Aachen from September 2019 to August 2020. Thora holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (2017-2019) and a Bachelor of Science in Informatik from TU Dortmund University (2014-2017).
