Marlene Hoeber currently serves as Senior Manager of Prototype Engineering and previously held the role of Senior Prototyping Engineer at Twelve since November 2021. In addition, Marlene has been actively involved with the Center for Sex and Culture since July 2010, holding various positions including President of the Board of Directors and Director of Collections, managing the CSC archive and art gallery. Prior experience includes roles as Senior Engineer and Engineer at Bolt Threads from July 2016 to November 2021, and Equipment Design and Solutions Engineer at Amyris Biotechnologies from August 2006 to July 2016, where Marlene provided mechanical and technical solutions for laboratory needs. Marlene also has experience managing laboratory services, overseeing fermentation operations, and working as a lead mechanic in the motorcycle repair industry. Marlene earned a BA in Sculpture from Bard College between 1989 and 1993.
