Alaina van Horn

Alaina van Horn is an experienced attorney specializing in intellectual property enforcement. Alaina began their career in 2005 as a Summer Associate at Hogan & Hartson Raue, LLP. In 2006, they joined the U.S. Department of Justice as an attorney until 2008 when they transitioned to U.S. Customs and Border Protection as an Attorney for Intellectual Property Rights. From 2019 to 2020, Alaina worked as a Policy Advisor in the Office of the U.S. Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator at the Executive Office of the President. Currently, they hold the role of Chief of the Intellectual Property Enforcement Branch at U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Alaina van Horn has a diverse education history. Alaina obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Philosophy from New York University in 2003. Following that, they attended The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, and earned a Juris Doctor (JD) degree in International and Comparative Law in 2006. In the same period, they obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Philosophy from The Catholic University of America from 2004 to 2006. Later, in 2008, Alaina van Horn studied International Arbitration and Mediation at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Recently, they completed their education by obtaining a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in International and Comparative Law from The George Washington University Law School, which they attended from 2018 to 2020.
