C. Hunter Wiggins

C. Hunter Wiggins currently serves as Senior Advisor to the COO at the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Federal Student Aid, advising on various issues related to federal student aid. Previously, Wiggins held roles as General Counsel and Chief of Staff at the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, where responsibilities included overseeing a wide range of financial institutions and professional licensing. Wiggins' experience also encompasses partnership at JONES DAY® in financial institutions litigation, significant leadership positions at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau including Principal Deputy Enforcement Director, and roles at Abbott Laboratories focusing on anti-corruption and product protection. Earlier career highlights include positions with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and court clerkship for the Honorable Robert E. Payne, along with a legal education from the University of Michigan Law School and a bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa.
