Rufino Hurtado has extensive experience in international trade, currently serving as a Senior Trade Representative to the European Union and previously as Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative and Senior Director at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative since January 2017. Prior to this, Rufino held the position of Director of Global Strategies at the Consumer Brands Association from January 2014 to January 2017. Additional roles include International Trade Specialist at the International Trade Administration and USDA Foreign Agricultural Service, Project Manager at Rubens Barbosa & Associates, and Special Assistant to the Under Secretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs at USDA. Early career experience includes serving as a Legislative Affairs Intern at the US Small Business Administration. Rufino obtained a Master in International Public Policy from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, an MBA in International Trade and Finance from The George Washington University School of Business, and a degree in Business Administration, Cum Laude, with a focus on Political Science and Government from Adelphi University.
