Alex Bayne

Alex Bayne has extensive experience in human resources, currently serving as Managing Director of Human Resources at The University of British Columbia's Okanagan Campus since June 2006. Bayne has championed the organizational people framework, Focus on People, impacting a workforce of over 17,000 employees and advancing diversity and inclusion initiatives. Previous roles include Director of HR, Workplace Learning & Engagement, where a focus was placed on enhancing employee engagement and development, and Director of HR Integrated Strategies, coordinating human resource strategies and initiatives across the university. Prior experience includes leading HR efforts for the merger between Okanagan University College and UBC. Alex holds an MBA in Human Resources Management from Royal Roads University and a Bachelor of Arts in Pacific Asian Studies from the University of Victoria.
