Grant Payton has worked in the agricultural industry since 1997. Grant's first role was as an Agronomist at NZ Agriseeds Ltd, where they worked until 2002. Grant then moved to NZ Agriseeds as an Area Sales Manager, before joining MyFarm in 2007 as Head of Sales. In this role, they were responsible for sourcing and analyzing land and rural based business opportunities, conducting feasibility analysis on new sectors, and building successful relationships with a diverse range of people. Grant also acted as Operations Manager, overseeing the establishment and operation of up to 35 dairy syndicate properties. In 2022, they joined UBCO - Electric Adventure Vehicles as Director of Agriculture and Commercial, working to develop market strategy for existing and new products, and changing the way operations are conducted in a sustainable way.
Grant Payton completed a Certificate in Horticulture from Otago Polytechnic in 1994, followed by a BCom in Horticulture from Lincoln University (NZ) between 1995 and 1997. In 2018, they completed the Kellogg Rural Leadership Programme from NZ Rural Leaders.
