Pieter Deurinck

Pieter Deurinck serves as the VP, Head of IT Technology Strategy & Digital Business Transformation Solutions at UCB, a position held since April 2011. Pieter's responsibilities encompass IT Global Legal Affairs, IT Sustainability, Technology Strategy & Transformation, and the integration of Artificial Intelligence across various domains. Notably, Pieter leads the UCB-Microsoft Partnership aimed at enhancing drug discovery through data and AI, and has been recognized in the Best of Business AI and in Satya Nadella’s 2021 Ignite keynote. Previously, roles included VP of IT Early Solutions and VP of IT New Medicines, with significant contributions to initiatives such as the European Medical Information Framework and partnerships with IBM. Pieter's career includes experience as a Managing Consultant at IBM and a Senior Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Educational qualifications consist of programs at IMD and Vlerick Business School, along with master’s degrees from the University of Antwerp in Applied Economics and Marketing.
