Denise Velasquez

English Second Language Instructor at UCEDA Institute

Denise Velasquez has a diverse work experience in the field of counseling and education. Denise currently works as a Vocational Counselor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine since November 2021. Prior to this, they worked as an English Second Language Instructor at Uceda Institute starting from February 2020.

Denise's longest tenure was at White Plains Senior High School, where they served as a School Counselor for over 20 years, offering guidance to students aged 14-18 on various aspects of their lives, including career development, academic achievement, social behavior, and mental and physical health. Denise left this position in January 2020, seeking new opportunities to utilize their Master's in professional counseling to create a supportive and stimulating environment for students.

Before joining the high school, Denise worked as an Elementary School Counselor at NYC DOE from September 1999 to June 2001.

Denise Velasquez holds a Master's Degree in Counselor Education/School Counseling and Guidance Services, which they obtained from City University of New York-Herbert H. Lehman College from 1998 to 2000. Prior to their Master's Degree, Denise completed their Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at the same institution, although the exact years are not provided. Additionally, they are certified as a School Counselor by the New York State Education Department, which they obtained in August 2000.
