Cynthia Barginere

President, Adult Services, SVP & President of Adult Services at UCSF Medical Center

Cynthia Barginere, RN, DNP, FACHE, currently serves as President of Adult Services at UCSF Health since March 2023. Previously, Barginere held the role of Chief Operating Officer at IHI from February 2021 to February 2023 and served as Chief Transformation Officer at Rush System For Health from July 2019 to July 2020, focusing on clinical and operational system integration. Additionally, Barginere was the Chief Operating Officer at Rush University Hospital from May 2015 to July 2019 and the Chief Nursing Officer at Rush University Medical Center from May 2011 to May 2015. Earlier experience includes serving as Chief Operating Officer/CNO at Baptist Health (2006-2011) and as Chief Nursing Officer at UAB Hospital (1994-2006). Barginere's career began as a Nurse/Nurse Manager at DMC from 1985 to 1990, with consulting work at The Center for Case Management from 1992 to 1995. Educational qualifications include a BSN from The University of Alabama, a DNP in Nursing Administration from Samford University, and an MSN in Nursing Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
